Chairs: You can't live without 'em

Chairs; as Grandpa used to say, "You can't live without 'em." He's got a point, you know. As working human beings, we probably spend more than half of our days simply resting our collective buttocks on some sort of supportive medium. Office chairs, lawn chairs, stools, you name it. In fact, you're probably sitting on a chair as you read this. With all that sitting, your body is going to take a heavy toll: back pain, headaches, poor circulation; been there, done that. Well, I want you to live a long and healthy life, so I am going to share with you some tips on how to stay healthy when you're sitting in your chair. Believe it or not, people have actually died from poor chair etiquette! And yes, there's a science behind it.

  • Straighten that back. Ideally, you want your back to be perpendicular to the ground and for you math people, at a 90 degree angle. This ensures that your spine stays nice and flexible. If you're slouching all the time, this really puts strain on your bones and weakens them every day until you can no longer stand up straight. You don't want to be screaming in pain with every golf swing, Tiger!
  • Do stretches. With every passing hour, make sure to stop, drop, and roll. Just kidding. Make sure to pause what you're doing, close your eyes, and give yourself a couple neck rolls. This ensures that your blood is circulating properly, so you don't get an unnecessary clot. Lots of inactivity can lead to fainting, strokes, and other terrible things alike. So make sure to move a little every hour and get that blood pumping!
  • Get a good chair. This one's probably the most important. If you follow steps 1 and 2, but you're sitting on an outdated artifact, you're going to be in trouble. You need an ergonomic chair with adjustable features to fit your body's unique shape. This may sound high-tech and pricey, but luckily Beverly Hills Chairs has top-notch quality chairs at amazing prices that will make you experience sheer joy. They've got the goods, so check them out.

That's it. Just follow these tips, and you'll be walking around smiling from ear to ear!
